A day with our great grandma

Yesterday Guillermo and I decided to go visit my grandma (his great grandma). She has cancer for the second time in a year and starts chemo today, so I wanted to be sure that she got some time with him and that we were able to see her before the icky side effects of chemo set in.
Praise the Lord it was time well spent.
We got there around 11:00 and around noon the both of them went down for a nap and I just hung out trying to get things cleaned up. They have also been without electricity since Saturday so the place was comfortable for me, but a little cold for grandma.
Anyway, she is still recovering from surgery so I wasn't sure if she would be able to hold Guillermo, but she wanted to try. I was so thankful he just laid in her arms.
It was so nice that she could enjoy holding him, kissing him, and smelling him:) She thought he smelled so good!
All in all, I think she was happy we came. We were able to get some things done for her and she was able to snuggle with Guillo. We are always blessed to be with her.

This picture is sweet because if Guillo wasn't sleeping or eating he was looking at his great grandma. He was very interested in her.

We love our great grandma Donna.

20 weeks

Our little guy turned 20 weeks last Friday (Feb.23rd). Some of the things he loves right now are: the changing table, his baths...he loves to move his feet around in the water and he has also tried grabbing the water:), Baby Einstein, his hands, someone else's hands, playing in his exersaucer or on this play mat my sister and brother-in-law got him, he loves eating his rice cereal..not sure why but he finds it very funny, he loves playing with his daddy, he loves when we chew on his belly, he likes the phone and accidentally pushing numbers while he listens to someone on the other end, he likes listening to people talk, in fact he will look at you very intently, he also likes when we look at hims and smile. All in all he enjoys his days and is pretty content during the day. Here are some pics...

Rice cereal

Okay so the other night, Saturday to be exact we started feeding Guillermo rice cereal. He wasn't too sure about it.
In fact he was more into his bib and eating that.
The second time wasn't any different. So I gave him the spoon to play around with, just to get used to it, but I had to take it away because he was trying to get the whole thing in his mouth!
So today this was his response every time he ate a bite. He now thinks it's funny. I especially got excited because he opened his mouth in response to the spoon nearing his mouth. He wasn't sure why I was excited so he just got excited too.

Nasty

Okay I have to share this story with you all because it is so funny to me:)
So yesterday Francisco stayed home in the morning from work and as he was putting Guillermo down for a nap I decided to go make our bed (funny...yes a made bed looks nice, but my main motives is so I won't be tempted to get back in bed:)
As I went to put our down comforter on...this is what I saw!
A house centipede! I seriously get the chills when I see this picture. This thing has 15 PAIRS of skinny legs. UHG!

I screamed because I have never seen one before. So Francisco came to the rescue!

*See the kleenex in his left hand? He decided to blow his nose with it instead of grab the hairy centipede!

The only thing is I told Francisco to save the comforter so he tried to kill it with the swifter.
It got away. It moves so stinkin' fast.

Ha! Then he made me help him take out all the drawers of our dresser and look for this crazy thing.

We couldn't find it. Seriously the rest of the day I felt like it was crawling all over me.

So I left to go hang out with some friends and Francisco went to run some errands.
When I got home I went into our bedroom and I saw it in the corner!
I yelled for Francisco to come kill it and this was the end result...

I slept well.

Prayer

So my blogger friends and family:) Please pray for me. I am going to post announcements that I am willing to take care of children in my home. I know some of you are probably wondering what I am doing with my career...well I need to pass boards to become a nurse..well to be honest I'm not that excited about being a nurse anymore. It excites me more to stay at home with Guillermo and possibly take care of other kids.
I don't know I am just confused right now...and I can testify to what the Bible says about debts (that we are slaves to them) is so TRUE!!

Dads

(If you look close enough you see Guillo's little hand wrapped around Francisco's neck...he loves to sleep all cuddled).

I just need to say dads are essential.

And Francisco is a great dad by the Lord's grace. Francisco never had a good example growing up of what a father should be to their children, but he is such a wonderful dad. He loves Guillermo so much, hugs on him, kisses on him and plays with him. Most of all he's so proud.

Anyway, enough of that...he totally came to my rescue today! For 3 weeks I have been sick...2 weeks with strep throat 2 different times and now I have something else, not sure if it is a sinus infection or what. I just feel yucky. Francisco works long days and is usually exhausted by the time he gets home. And most of the time Guillermo's day has ended and is sleeping. So today Francisco left me home alone ALL DAY!! In fact, as I write this they are still gone. He took care of him in the morning while I slept and then he took him to church and now they are at Bible Study. I slept until almost 3pm today and I feel so refreshed. I could take another nap too. I know Francisco is tired, but he didn't say anything he just gladly took him. I am so thankful for him and I am so thankful for rest.

19 weeks old

Guillermo is 19 weeks old today. He is so fun to be with, he's my little buddy:)
Here are some pics....

We went out to eat with some friends and decided to take him with us. I just have to say he blew my socks off. It was past his bedtime and he was all smiles and giggles and then he just quietly fell asleep without one tear! What?!! I need to take him to Texas Roadhouse more often:)

He likes our friends:)

Snow Day

So this past weekend we headed up to my parents for a women's conference that my mom and I attended together. It ended up snowing Sunday night and Francisco didn't have work and neither did my mom, so Monday and Tuesday were snow days! Oh fun!
Since Francisco had never played in the snow before (see previous post) I was so excited to take him out. We both got bundled up in random clothes of my parents and had a blast! here are some pics...

Going solo...

Then we decided to go together...

Then, Francisco got a little ambitious and set out to conquer the hill with all the trees.

I think the cold air started getting to us because we were now finding ice sickles and playing with them...

Then, inside for some hot chocolate, a warm bowl of chili and some time with Guillo and grandma!
What a GREAT day! Snow is fun.

First Time

Our nephew Brighton's first time playing in the snow was this month... Francisco's first time playing in the snow was this month...

**I guess you're never too old to have fun in the snow!

18 Weeks

Last Friday Feb. 9th Guillermo turned 18 weeks. We also had his 4 month appointment and he weighed 16 pounds and was 25 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile for both length and weight.
Both Guillermo and Francisco got checked for strep throat as well since I have ahd strep throat twice in a week and a half!
Guillermo also got his shots and has been sick ever since with a cough, cold and he did have a fever, but not anymore. So that's that...now here are the photos.

Poor guy....my mom found some googles and we had a little too much fun with them:)

I love his hair after a bath...I just want to squeeze him all day sometimes

Rollin'

What in the world!!! All the sudden one night (Monday to be exact) Guillermo just rolled over! Now I am sure this was in the makin' for a while, but it shocked me. I put him one his stomach because that is how he likes to sleep and I heard him crying...I went in to check on him and he was on his back looking at me with a confused look ( I think he surprised himself and was wondering what he had just done). I freaked out! My little guy is now somewhat mobile! Now it's Friday and he is a pro, in fact it has been a long week of struggling through nap time and even in the middle of the night. He despises sleeping on his back and once he gets over from his stomach to his back he is so mad because he is stuck...he hasn't figured out to get from his back to his stomach. I am trying to teach him and he is a determined little guy so I am sure it won't be long.
On Monday night I was so proud of him for rolling over and then it hit me that he is growing so fast. Sad.

16 weeks

These last 4 months have gone by way too fast for my comfort:) Here are some pics of when he turned 16 weeks last Friday (January 26th)
